How come 4 people from very different backgrounds can get together to make a band?

I'm just talking in general, but though you can mention some bands
formed by 4 members that are very different from one another, oh and
forget the beatles, cause they actually aren't that different from one
another, i mean bands that have their differences but still managed to
success
