Ough Gervais Golden Globes Watch: Hollywood Foreign Press Association Divided Over Comic's Return as Host
Since you can't go several week without reading through about Ough Gervais and also the Golden Globes, Deadline reviews the Hollywood Foreign Press Association is "divided" over whether or not to bring the questionable comic to host for any third year consecutively, a result NBC, the Globes's television network, really wants to see happen. "NBC has place the HFPA inside a lose-lose situation," stated a resource to Deadline. "When the Hollywood Foreign Press states 'Yes' to Ough, it risks turning the Globes into 'The Ough Gervais Show' and departing the sense that they are yearly tossing an excellent party while inviting somebody that humiliates all the visitors. Whether it states 'No,' the HFPA appears like it's no spontaneity about itself. The issue is, for those who have Ough, the show has a tendency to find yourself being about him and just how mean he is able to be. He effectively dwarfs the significance of the ceremony itself." Lolz to that particular last part: "the key from the ceremony itself." This is actually the Golden Globes, where alcohol flows freely one of the star-studded visitors, and those who win sometimes (although not always) have been in the restroom when their names are introduced. (Hey, Christine Lahti!) For his part, Gervais would clearly be lower to host again. "They haven't requested me formally yet, and I'm not sure if I'd say yes. It is extremely tempting," he lately told Access Hollywood, while adding that NBC wants him to come back however the HFPA was the best decider. Per Deadline, a choice on Gervais needs to be produced sometime now. [via Deadline] [Photo: Getty] Follow Moviefone on Twitter Like Moviefone on Facebook
