L Word's Leisha Hailey Escorted off Southwest Flight After Kissing Girlfriend

Leisha Hailey L Word alum Leisha Hailey claims she was kicked off a Southwest Airlines flight after passengers complained that she and her girlfriend were kissing excessively. "Flt. attendant said that it was a 'family' airline and kissing was not ok." After the discussion escalated, Hailey and her girlfriend were escorted off the plane. "This is an outrage. I demand a public apology by Southwest... and a refund. Hate is not a family value. I will never fly this airline." Check out all the familiar faces returning to TV this year Southwest released a statement shortly after, saying that the passenger complaints characterized the couple's behavior as "excessive." "Our crew, responsible for the comfort of all customers on board, approached the passengers based solely on behavior and not gender. The conversation escalated to a level that was better resolved on the ground, as opposed to in flight." Southwest is the official airline for the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) and other gay-friendly groups. "GLAAD contacted Southwest to call for additional actions beyond tonight's statement that ensure all customers feel comfortable and welcomed while traveling," GLAAD's Senior Director of Programs Herndon Graddick said in a statement. They are still waiting to hear back from the airline.
